EXPOSED 005 — BRAIN

The structure behind everything we think we are.

Memory, identity, fear, imagination, language and thought all originate within an object most of us will never see directly.

BRAIN treats that hidden organ as both anatomical subject and portrait. Removed from the body and presented through the visual language of medical imaging, it becomes a map of complexity rather than a conventional depiction of a person.

Produced on authentic medical imaging film, the work uses density, translucency and fine pale detail to create a piece that changes as the surrounding light changes.
